Brian McLaren: Do I Stay Christian?
Everything is OK People!
We return with another titan of our faith as a guest. Brian McLaren is a prolific author, speaker, and theologian. A former college English teacher and pastor, he is a passionate advocate for "a new kind of Christianity" - just, generous, and working with people of all faiths for the common good. He is an Auburn Senior Fellow, a contributor to We Stand With Love, and a leader in the Convergence Network, through which he is developing an innovative training/mentoring program for pastors and church planters.
We read his newest book Do I Stay Christian and tackle some of the themes in both the “No" section and “Yes” section. Join us for this journey, and please buy his book today. We highly recommend it for people exploring their faith, puzzled at the link of American christianity and politics, and interested in a thorough examination fo both the beauty and harm in our faith.
We also laugh a little in the beginning of the episode, share Weird Christian Twitter, and get an update from Matt O’Mealey on martial arts training with his son.
